All new & current members and their families are invited to join us as we introduce our newest members and officially welcome them to the Honor Society. Families who may be interested in joining our Chapter are also invited to attend.

If you are interested in joining a chapter in the future, you should plan to take the Stanford or Iowa Achievement Test, ACT, or SAT to be eligible to join the honor society next year. Eighth graders’ scores on the Stanford will work for high school membership. Please contact the chapter sponsor with questions.

Eta Sigma Alpha National Home School Honor Society’s PHI IOTA CHAPTER welcomes home school students from the 9th-12th grades.

VALUES: Leadership, Community Service, Networking, Scholarship

NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

  • A test score, not more than 1 year old, of 1800/SAT or 26/ACT or 180/PSAT or
  • 90% on the composite battery on the IOWA, Stanford, California, MAT, or other nationally normed standardized achievement test.

Only those students who meet the HSLDA definition of a home schooler are eligible for ESA membership. This rule states that a student must complete 50% of his/her studies at home under the direct supervision of the parent.

CHAPTER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • A letter, written by the student, to the PIC president, stating and explaining his/her desire to join ESA-PIC
  • A copy of the required test scores (listed above)

COMMITMENTS OF PIC MEMBERS:

  • Our meetings are quarterly through the school year and location is chosen in areas which aid the geographic diversity found in our chapter.
  • Our members participate in an apologetics discussion on an assigned topic at each meeting.
  • PIC members will help choose and work on a chapter Service Project.
