Dr. Herrington takes students back in time through the history of classical music, from the music of knights and ladies in the Middle Ages to the music written in our own time. Students will also learn about the instruments of the orchestra, the fundamentals of reading music (even playing an instrument a bit), songwriting, and music appreciation skills. Appropriate for both young musicians and those with no musical experience (exercises are tailored to students’ skill levels). This is an excellent Fine Arts credit!
Dr. Herrington is homeschool dad as well as music professor at Sam Houston State University.
Camp fee includes tuition and all supplies: Listening CDs and Worksheets, a recorder (instrument), music paper, and binding of each student's final songwriting project.
Min enrollment: 6 / Max enrollment: 15
