TKD Winners!

Congratulations to EE’s competitors (Peoples TKD Program): Ethan Bauder, Jack Alderson, Claire Alderson, Caden Alderson, Cruz Suarez, Grant Cox. Students brought home a combined 10 medals won in their respective age and belt divisions in Sparring and Forms. Mr. Peoples is proud of all his team!

Awards:
Ethan Bauder (green belt)- 3rd in Forms; Jack Alderson (Green Stripe) - 1st in Sparring and 3rd in Forms; Claire Alderson (Green Stripe) - 2nd in Sparring and 3rd in Forms; Caden Alderson (Green Stripe) - 1st in Sparring and 3rd in Forms; Cruz Suarez (Yellow Belt)- tied for 3rd in Forms and ultimately received a competitor’s medal; Grant Cox (Yellow Belt) placed 3rd in both Forms and Sparring. 

BEST Robotics Winners



Congratulation to the Extraordinary Innovation Labs BEST Robotics Team on their performance at the North Houston BEST Hub Competition on October 18th-19th. The team took home the prestigious Founder's Award for Creative Design as well as the 1st Place Engineering Notebook Award. The team's robot was in the top 10 at the end of the seeding rounds, but lost out in the Wildcard Match. They also scored well in the Marketing Presentation and Marketing Booth. Be sure to congratulate these students when you see them!

Robotics Team Heading to Contest



Extraordinary Innovation Labs Robotics Team members showed off their skills at the BEST Robotics Demo Day on Saturday, October 12 at The Woodlands Mall. 

The North Houston BEST Robotics Hub Competition takes place this Saturday, October 19, at Woodlands College Park High School from 10:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Art Contest Winner!

Congratulations to EE art student Abby Yeager for her outstanding showing at the Tomball Art League Art Show & Sale held at LSC Tomball on October 11-12, 2019. Abby took home THREE awards including 2nd Place and 3rd Place in her age group as well as Best of Show for all students grades K-12th. The show included entries by students from Tomball, Magnolia, Klein and Waller. Abby is a student of our amazing EE art teacher, Linda Marie.

Explorers Unite!


Are you/your family interested in traveling to Portugal, Scandinavia, Russia, The Grand Canyon, Santa Fe and more?  Get an overview of these three 2020 trips by attending the "Explorers Unite!"  travel meeting on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 4:30 - 5:30 in the Passion Vine room at EE!

BEST Robotics Season Kicks Off


It's time for the new BEST Robotics season!

Extraordinary Innovation Labs BEST Robotics Team invites team members and prospective team members to join us for our first meeting of the season on THURSDAY, AUGUST 29th, 2019. The North Houston BEST Robotics Hub Kick Off Day will be held on SATURDAY, September 7th, and it's time to get started on this year's competition!

Meet the Teachers Thursday, August 15th

EARLY Robotics Team Earns Awards

Congratulations to our Extraordinary Innovation Lab EARLY Robotics students on their outstanding performance at the EARLY Robotics contest in Huntsville on Saturday, April 27th. The team placed 1st in the Game Competition, 1st in Robot Design and 2nd in the Team Challenge. They also scored the high score of the day!

Lone Star Flight Museum Field Trip

Students can explore a 130,000 square foot STEM learning facility including two 30,000 square foot aircraft hangars with more than 20 airworthy aircraft; flight academy with 26 hands-on activities; two virtual hang gliders, paper airplane station and science exploration. Students will be exposed to historical research of Texas aviators and their important achievements.

When:  Friday, April 5, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Ages:   11 and up, although younger siblings are welcome

Students will learn about:

  • The Science of Flight
  • Technological Advancements in Aviation
  • Aviation Engineering and Flight Dynamics
  • Texas Aviation History
  • Careers + Mentorship in Aviation and Aerospace
  • Phonetic Alphabet Intro
  • Mathematical Principles

Students will participate in in-depth hands-on activities exploring how science, technology, engineering and mathematics relate in real world scenarios. They will be exposed to various careers in the aviation and aerospace industry, and they will work with others to communicate effectively and utilize critical thinking skills.

Living History School Day Field Trip

Living History Class
Learn about military history from World War I to the present. The museum has the largest collection of restored, functioning historic military vehicles in Texas, an extensive collection of historic uniforms, various equipment demonstrations and interactive living history displays.

EARLY Robotics Team - Calling all young engineers!

EE is looking to form an EARLY Robotics team to compete in this year's
EARLY Robotics competition. We have two contest dates to choose from - April 27th in Huntsville or May 11th in Houston. If we have enough interest, we can even compete in both tournaments.

  • Team members need to be ages 8-12 years.
  • Team meetings will be Wednesdays from 2:00-3:30. 
  • The cost to be on the team is a discounted rate of $40/month for February-May with a Supply Fee of $20.
  • Team members must commit to attend at least one contest date (4/27 and/or 5/11) before joining the team.

About EARLY Robotics

Engineering And Robotics Learned Young (EARLY) is a robotics program that immerses elementary and middle school students in the engineering process. EARLY provides elementary and middle school students the opportunity to design and build robots along with participating in robotics competitions. Each season, EARLY teams are given a new mission that they complete by building a robot from LEGO Simple & Powered Machines Sets.

EARLY team members have a bright future with the opportunity to participate in various robotics competitions as they get older such as the BEST Robotics Competition. For those students that choose to participate on the EARLY team, they will be introduced to hands-on engineering and gain an appreciation for the challenges and goals that the EARLY team will face.

"Adventure in Costa Rica" June 2019

"Adventure in Costa Rica" student and/or family trip is an all-inclusive educational adventure!!!

June 3 - 11, 2019

Final deadline to sign up for the trip is February 13, 2019!
