The Family Camp–May 27-31

familycamplogoThe Family Camp May 27 - 31, 2013
www.thefamilycamp.org
The Family Camp is brought to you by some of the leaders of the most dynamic home education ministries in Texas and coordinated by the Family Directed Education Foundation (FDEF). We are happy to offer a dynamic camp for each member of your family, preschool through adult.

This Year's Camp Theme: I Am Third - God, Others, Self
Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' — Matthew 22 : 37

Our family camp concept is as unique as the families who will attend. We have created a customizable system of "mini-camps" that will offer fifteen hours of specialized training in a skill. All mini-camps are designed specifically for families who have chosen home schooling and utilize camping as one mode of spiritual training and skill development.

Each member of the family will choose from one of the mini-camps offered and attend that mini-camp each day. Students 10 and up have many options including music, theater, debate, speech, apologetics and sports programs. Children ages 5 - 9 will participate in the "Kidz Zone" mini-camp. Ages four and under will be cared for in our Family Camp Nursery. Special training class for parents will be offered in the areas of parenting, education and marriage.

We have also scheduled plenty of recreation time for you to enjoy as a family or with other friends during afternoons. Some recreational activities include swimming in the pool, the ropes course, canoeing and taking a plunge onto the "Blob".

In the evenings all families come together for a time of worship, inspiration and Biblical exhortation. Families will have the opportunity to learn together in a positive, family-friendly environment and to deepen their faith in the Lord as they develop a better understanding of His character.

Please visit our website www.thefamilycamp.org to register for camp or for more information.

Christians today have acquired a bad reputation, intellectually. But we Christians, above all others, have a tradition of truth-seeking, strong minded, women and men earning their place at the cultural table. In order to inherit that legacy, we need to participate in it. In this intensive week-long class, you will get the opportunity to do just that. Beginning with St. Paul in Athens in Acts 17 and continuing until modern writers, we will cover the major reasons for and philosophic foundations of Christian thought.
God and Reason is a 6 day intensive day camp. Each day will begin at 9am and end at 4pm, with special events Wednesday and Friday evenings. Cost for the week is $200 per student.
God and Reason is open to all interested students and HIGHLY recommended for all students starting Great Books III this Fall.
