Do you have a daughter or son who is interested in creative problem-solving, artistic expression, community service, and outdoor adventure? Does she or he enjoy meeting other teens with similar interests and working together as a team?
If yes, then please join us for an informational meeting this Wednesday, August 15th from 7 to 8:15 pm to learn about BEST Robotics and a local team called "The Woodlands Homeschoolers - Venture Crew 8."
We will meet at Extraordinary Education, located at 9522 Carraway Lane Magnolia, Texas 77354. This is just west of The Woodlands on FM 2978. Here is Google map link (link is http://goo.gl/maps/ndGYQ)
Our team of home-schooled girls and boys has participated in the regional BEST Robotics program for over 10 years and welcomes both girls and boys 14 to 18 years old. Our team has many diverse and fun opportunities for youth to participate. Some are focused on designing and building the team robot to compete in a tournament.
Some are focused on creating a team presentation, creating an artistic team display exhibit, creating marketing materials and reaching out to our community to stimulate interest in science, creativity and engineering.
We also go hiking, canoeing and camping together. So there are numerous fun and challenging activities for both girls and boys. Also, there are a few leadership positions available for youth to fill.
Our team is organized as a Venture Crew, which is part of Boy Scouts of America and welcomes both Girls and Boys.
